We wrote “I like…” books that helped us get to know what everyone likes. We wrote what we like, drew illustrations, and shared our books with the class. Some of my favorites were: pizza, friends, flowers, and school!
Wow! What a week! Students have been working hard as we begin to wrap up the school year!
MATH
In math students finished the End of the Year assessment. They worked so hard--it's a long test!! We made sure to play lots of math games too!
Students are also learning about composting. Students learned how we can take the waste we create and turn it into fertilizer--just like chickens do with their waste! We had an AWESOME visit from Recycle Rhonda from CSWD who taught us all about composting! She even brought a bin of her own compost and we search for compost critters. A lot of worms, a few snails, and even a pseudoscorpion!
LAST WEEK
Here are a few photos from last week since there was no post! We enjoyed a performance from Back to Bach, played a new math game, and had a first grade Beach Party celebration!
SCIENCE
We also had a great trip to see Diary of a Worm, a Spider, and a Fly at the Flynn on Friday!
Somehow we've arrived at the end of March. Time flies when you are having fun in first grade! We had a great week full of great learning. This post is for two weeks since last week was a short week!
SOCIAL STUDIES/SCIENCE
Students have been learning about animal classification. We read books, watched BrainPop Jr. videos, did research on PebbleGo, and did a few crafts about the different animal groups.
